Computers & remote workers
Managed desktops and laptops, secure remote access, patching, device protection and practical support.
Stroud & Gloucestershire
One experienced local person to support, maintain and improve the whole picture: your computers, network, Microsoft 365, servers, backups, broadband, Wi-Fi, remote workers, phones and technology suppliers.
Oblyx can handle a focused issue, provide ongoing support, work alongside an existing provider or take responsibility for bringing an undocumented setup under control.
What Oblyx looks after
The service is built around business continuity and clear responsibility, not a collection of disconnected technical products.
Switches, firewalls, business broadband, Wi-Fi coverage, network layout and sensible separation between systems.
User accounts, email, access, multifactor authentication, joiners, leavers and day-to-day administration.
Physical and virtual servers, file storage, backup coverage, restore confidence, capacity and recovery planning.
Managed desktops and laptops, secure remote access, patching, device protection and practical support.
Desk phones, cloud calling, number management, call routing and the resilience of your business communications.
Access controls, software updates, endpoint protection, cyber-insurance readiness and obvious single points of failure.
A clear record of providers, licences, renewals and responsibilities, with one person coordinating the moving parts.
Regular checks, practical reporting, planned improvements and local support when something needs attention.
Oblyx's own platform helps document, connect and monitor the systems a business depends on as the service develops.
Professional firms
Oblyx does not claim a regulated legal or accountancy specialism. The service focuses on the practical technology controls that professional firms commonly depend on.
Clear oversight of confidential information, email security, user access, remote working, backups and supplier responsibilities.
Reliable access to client files and business systems, secure laptops, Microsoft 365, backup confidence and continuity through busy periods.
A local technical manager for consultancies, practices and owner-led businesses that have important systems but no internal IT manager.
The person behind the service
I’m David Thomson, founder of Oblyx. I’ll be the person you speak to when you contact us.
My background is in practical engineering and business, so I approach IT as a connected operational system rather than a collection of separate products. I help local businesses understand, document, improve and manage their networks, Microsoft 365, servers, backups, broadband, remote working and communications.
Oblyx Hub and Edge support that service by helping bring the systems a business depends on into one clearer, more manageable picture. I’m based near Stroud and work with businesses across Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas.
What happens next?
Start with a structured review rather than an open-ended support contract. The aim is to establish what is in place, where the real risks are and what should happen next.
Start with a conversation
This is separate from the Oblyx Hub trial. Your enquiry goes into the Oblyx review queue so David can respond personally and decide whether a short conversation or health review is the right next step.
Enquiry received
The next step is a personal reply to arrange a short conversation or clarify what would be useful. No support contract or Hub trial has been created.
